Walk a 40' replica of the Labyrinth at Chartres Cathedral near Paris, France

walk our labyrinthLabyrinths have been around for over 4000 years and are found in just about every major religious tradition in the world. They have been an integral part of many cultures such as Native American, Greek, Celtic and Mayan. The Hopi called the labyrinth the symbol for "mother earth" and equated it with the Kiva. Like Stonehenge and the pyramids, they are magical geometric forms that define sacred space. During the crusades, they were used to symbolically represent the pilgrimage to the Holy Land. Today, labyrinths are being used for reflection, meditation, prayer and comfort.

chartres labyrinth patternMany people make the mistake of thinking a labyrinth and a maze are the same. A maze has dead ends and many trick turns. A labyrinth has only one path which leads into the center and back out again. You cannot get lost or confused walking a labyrinth, just put one foot in front of the other and the path will lead the way.

In walking the Chartres style labyrinth the walker meanders through each of the four quadrants several times before reaching the center. At the center is a rosette design which has a rich symbolic value. Symbolically, walking the labyrinth is a journey within. It can be a profound experience and people often gain wonderful insights into themselves, their lives, relationships and purpose.

Workshop & walk schedule: Dec. 30 th , 1:- 3:30pm
We would be happy to schedule a special workshop for your corporate, community, or church group.

Take a photo tour of Rancho Del Corazon where we conduct the labyrinth walks.
